Boldizsár Szentgáli-Tóth Attends Kick-off Meeting of COST Action ConsciousTech

On 24 September 2026, Boldizsár Szentgáli-Tóth LL.M, principal investigator of our Research Group, took part in the inaugural meeting of the Management Committee of COST Action CA25110, “ConsciousTech: normative CONSCIOUSness in the TECH community”. The kick-off meeting formally launched the Action, which brings together scholars and practitioners from law, computer science, philosophy, ethics and the social sciences across Europe.

ConsciousTech aims to build the first European network dedicated to strengthening “normative consciousness” in the tech community, meaning an awareness among those who design and govern technologies of the legal norms, ethical principles and social expectations that shape their work. The Action pursues three objectives: clarifying how norms and values are defined across different normative frameworks, gathering comparative evidence on how these frameworks are applied in practice, and turning the results into teaching, training and engagement strategies.

The Action's goals are closely connected to the research agenda of the Algorithmic Constitutionalism Lendület Research Group, which examines how constitutional values can be upheld in the age of algorithms and artificial intelligence. Through Boldizsár’s participation as the Hungarian member of the Management Committee, the research group can contribute its expertise to broad European interdisciplinary cooperation and help build a dialogue between academia, industry and regulators across Europe and in Hungary.
